What to Bring Camping

Camping is a fun activity that the entire family can take part in, but if you’ve never gone camping before, you’re probably at a loss as to what you should bring. There are quite a few things that you will need, though it really depends on how long your camping trip will be, where you are going, and what time of year it is.You will most certainly need to bring food. You can choose to bring dry rations, but if you really want to have a fun experience it would be best to bring something that you can cook. On that note though, make sure you bring something that can be cooked easily over an open flame. There are a few different ways to cook your food on a camping trip. Some people will choose to bring a portable grill, and some will bring a camping stove. The portable grill will be able to prepare many different types of food, from steak, to hot dogs, or even hamburgers. To be perfectly frank, there are many, many different options when it comes to cooking on the trail.

Almost all camping stoves and grills are powered by butane, so before you leave, it would be a good idea to bring a few extra cans of butane or propane, depending on the power source. You can buy these in packs at most camping stores. Remember to follow the instructions to the letter, and of course buy high quality gas canisters.

Obviously you are going to need a tent on your camping trip. Tents have come a long way in the past, and they are now made of more breathable material. The tent is not something you want to skimp out on when it comes to price and quality. If you do, you may wake up feeling as if you are in an oven, or depending on the climate, you might be covered in icicles.

You want a tent that is waterproof, and you want one that can stand up to the elements. If there is a wind storm, you want the tent to stay put. Believe us when we say that a tent is perfectly capable of dragging you across the countryside if the winds are strong enough!

Make sure you bring a winter coat, or at least some warm clothing even if you are camping in the summer time. The weather is capable of changing at the drop of a hat, as you are probably well aware. In addition to winter coats, you should also make sure you bring a change of clothing in the event you get wet.

Injuries are probably going to happen on any camping trip, and because of that fact it is very important that you bring medical equipment, particularly first aid kits.

This is a list of a few things that might come in handy on a camping trip. Remember that while you need to bring adequate supplies, you also need to pack light. As time goes by you will become more experienced and soon enough you will know just what to bring on your camping trip.
