A Fishing Guide

A Fishing Guide to Choosing the Best times to Fish

A large number of people, who pick up a rod and head out fishing, have often times little idea as to why it is that a fish may bite or not. For many, a common piece of ‘stood the test of time’ advice about fishing being best in the morning a evening is held fast to, and they go out to do their best. But, after withstanding many hours waiting with rod in hand, hoping for that nibble, one may begin to ask questions. With the asking, one can learn that fishing success can come from following some complex rules. Unfortunately it is not as easy as early mornings and late evenings filling your bucket. There is more to your fishing success than may perhaps be mentioned in the standard fishing guide.

It may not be best to pick up your rod and head out whenever the mood may hit. There are some clues within the environment that can be telling about when you may have the greatest chances of success. The tips following, should be able to help you as you understand that there are just some times when one cannot possibly hope to catch a good bite. Perhaps giving up the fishing bug for the day and choosing the hobby next in line for that day would be a better bet. You need not necessarily time your fishing around some set of complicated rules, but it can be helpful to understand a little more about the best process.

Clue number one, is the weather. Fish are very sensitive to temperature both within the water and in the air. Looking first to the days weather would begin to give you an indication. Fish also pick up on humidity and air pressure. As you fish at your favorite spots, keep a log of the conditions around you versus the response of the fish. This log, although a bit of effort will pay off in future as you use weather conditions to determine when it would be worth your while getting the tackle out.

In the animal kingdom, every creature, with possibly the exception of the human race, has sensitivity to the phases of the moon. These phases can govern the activities performed at different times. Looking at fish, for example, they tend to feed more vigorously when the moon approaches full. Fishing at this time on the calendar may certainly bring you greater fishing success than at any other time.

A fishing guide cannot really advise you completely on when it may be the perfect time to head out with your rod. Most often a guide can specify the many different factors that have been known to affect fishing success in general. What you do with that advice is to apply your own personal research conducted at your favourite fishing spots in order to put application to the tips you read about.
