Quality Off-Road Trailers
Trailers are perfect for when you need extra loading space for a camping trip. They can be hooked to a vehicle’s towbar and towed virtually anywhere. It is both simple and easy. With the wide variety of trailers on the market today, you are in the fortunate position that you can buy the ideal model that fits your needs and preferences. If you like to explore the wilderness in a 4×4, you will need a trailer that can handle the rough and uneven terrain. This is where Echo 4×4 Centre comes into the picture with our range of off-road trailers.
Most regular trailers offer insufficient clearance and are unstable when the road gets bumpy. These trailers’ bodies and chassis are designed for on-road use and they have limited suspension articulation and ground clearance. They are not up to the rigours of off-road travelling. We approach off-road trailers differently. Today, we will look at one of the popular models in our range of trailers designed to handle rough terrain.
The Echo 3 Off-Road Trailer
The Echo 3 is a top-quality trailer designed for ease of access and storage. It is a prime example of how a trailer can be designed to complement a 4×4 experience. This model runs on a single axle fitted with off-road wheels and tyres. This grants the trailer more ground clearance to deal with bumpy and uneven terrain. The spare wheel is mounted on the front, with jerry-can mounting brackets on the sides. The rear offers storage compartments for gas bottles as well. The Echo 3’s tare mass is only 290 kg and its gross vehicle mass (GVM) is 750 kg.
The body of the Echo 3 off-road trailer is fabricated from 1,2-mm thick electro-galvanised steel. 2K automotive paint protects the body from corrosion, with stainless-steel nuts and bolts keeping the frame together. A rubberised load bed, interior carpeting, and mud flaps are optional extras. The chassis features a galvanised-steel A-frame that provides a sturdy platform for towing. It also features a skid plate to protect the undercarriage of the trailer. Rear support struts keep the trailer level and stable when parked. The axle can handle a load of 1,8 t to ensure that you can load this trailer to its GVM and it won’t break a sweat.
The wheels feature 15-inch steel rims to ensure that the chassis sits high enough off the ground for excellent ground clearance. Optionally, a self-braking axle can be specified so that the Echo 3 can be towed with a B or EB driving licence. Other optional extras include a PVC trailer cover, additional wiring, a spare-wheel cover, and a braai grid in the place of the spare-wheel mount. If you need a trailer that can handle off-road terrain when hooked up to a 4×4 vehicle, the Echo 3 is a solid choice.
